Broad Energy Bill Passed by House
The House yesterday brushed aside a new White House veto threat and handily approved a comprehensive energy bill that would raise automobile fuel-efficiency standards for the first time in 32 years and require increased use of renewable energy sources to generate electricity.

Majority's "No Energy" Bill Will Increase Taxes, Raise Gas and Home Heating Costs, Bill American Jobs
The Majority's "no energy" plan includes plenty of tax hikes, "green pork," and new mandates, but what it doesn't include is even more noteworthy.

"Green Pork" in the "No Energy" Bill: Taxpayers Would Bankroll a Fake Rainforest, Lexus Hybrids... & Forest Fish???
It's bad enough that the Majority's "no energy" plan fails to lower gas prices, help families deal with heating costs this winter, and increase domestic energy production. But the scheme also includes a mind-boggling slush fund for green pork that will let Members of Congress funnel billions to their favorite "green" constituencies. This slush fund has always been considered the most bizarre - and irresponsible - part of the one thousand-plus page bill.but what was just discovered today may take the cake.
